Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
Hi there,
I am using the Trade theme and found it very hard to modify the H1 and H2 tags. It is absolutely appealing that you made it so complicated, as that way, SEO is nearly impossible for an everyday person as you advertise your product. Anyway, how can I remove the logo from the H1 tag and add text (and where to define this text)?
How to change h2 tag from {shop.name} to text which I want as well?
My store is wholesale-plus.com.au

This is an accepted solution.
Sorry, step 6 is marked here.
Step 7 is to open this page: view-source:https://wholesale-plus.com.au/
Then search for "<h1"
If only one appears, it means you have modified it successfully.
You should be able to go to your Theme Settings => Logo, then click Edit on your Logo Image and type whatever you want into "Alt text". This should be as good for SEs as if it was a textual H1.
This will be on the homepage only, on other pages H1 will be a relevant object title, like product title on product page, collection name on collection page, etc.
I am not sure about your second question, but there are H2 available in different sections, for example "Rich text" heading or "Banner" heading, etc, so you can add one wherever you want.
Thanks, mate. I made it and report soon if it was recognized as H1Tag by Google.
Hey, I noticed that the logo alt text wasn't recognized as an H1 tag. Maybe the crawler just needs more time to find it. The good news is that the featured collection section has a description that functions as an H1 on the home page, just like I wanted.
You helped me find a good enough solution, but I still think that Shopify's design is not very SEO-friendly.
Thanks
Hi.
Upon inspection.
Your homepage has 2 H1, one for logo and one for collection showing 1 h1 title.
Your product page has 1 h1 from the product title at the top, which is fine.
Your collection page has only 1 H1, from the big collection title at the top, which is also good.
Your pages type page also only has 1 H1, from the page title at the top, which is also good.
Your blogs page also only has 1 H1, from the blog title.
For changing the logo H1,you can do it in this way:
Because my developer store doesn't have a Trade theme.
If you find my steps difficult for you.
You can download SEOAnt-AI SEO through this Link and use the free version. Also you can get 24/7 quality service, our customer support can help you to solve this problem for free.
Also with SEOAnt-AI SEO, you can also check the status of your website's H1 and also manually set the h2 title of all your website's content.
For your 2nd question, don't see a shop name in the h2 of your site, and many themes don't write it that way in the code.
Thanks Zoe, I will try. I can edit code and find h1 but what next? It seems missing next step.
I want ry first manually do that before I jump into the app.
