Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
Hi! So far what i've found that shopify doesnt have built-in filter by date. How can i show latest added products on collection page? And also how can i show only one last added product? Because i have a little bit different markup for last added product
Thanks!
Hi there!
Thanks for reaching out. We actually have a doc on this: Change the sort order for the products in a collection. You can change the order of an automatic collection under the "Sort" option on the collection page. In your case you'd want to switch it to "Newest to Oldest". If you have a manual collection, you can drag and drop each product into order!
Hope this helps! You can contact support 24/7 if you have any more questions!

Maggie,
That does not really answer the question. That is a weak work-around at best. How is it not a core functionality to see a list of ALL products in my store sorted by date added to the store (regardless of current inventory)?! I am not interested in what sort order the customer sees, I want to see it on the back-end. I will keep searching for an answer and an elegant solution. For now, I may have to create a collection called All Products, then sort it. Still a lame workaround as I do not want such a collection.

Has anyone found a solution for this problem yet? I also would like my "All Products" shopping page automatically set to show the newest products first WITHOUT creating a collection for all products. I'm running into the issue of some items not making it to the all products collection, so if a customer goes to that page not all of my products are there. There must be a simple solution for this right?
Really need a way to sort all inventory by date so I can unpublish or delete inventory that I know is old inventory and did not sync correctly from my store software.... If I can see that an item is over 6months old will help me tremendously fix website inventory compared to in store on hand issues
To everyone in this thread.. There is an easy solution for this. Go to Products in the Admin area and look at the top-right corner of the screen. There are options for Export, Import, More actions, and Add product, and under this you'll see an icon of a magnifying glass to search products and another icon that shows an arrow up and and an arrow down. Click that last icon to get a drop-down list of options for "Sort by". You can choose Created as the sort by criteria and then choose at the bottom for "Oldest first" or "Newest first".
Thanks Ed! This is a new functionality that Shopify added since all of these posts were written. Thanks for responding!
This seems to sort the Products list in the Admin, however under the "All products" list on my site, nothing changes after sorting this. Any ideas?
