I need to know what code is needed and where to put the code for the following:

I'm using the Shopify Craft theme. I have setup a variant for size and formula for my product.

Size Variant options: Select, 1 .5 oz, and 1.7 oz

Formula Variant options: Cedarwood, Rosemary, Tea Tree

"Select" is the default for both variants to ensure a proper selection is made

When "Select" is dispayed and the Add to Cart is selected, I want a message to pop up that says "Please select a size/formula before adding item to the cart".
