Image Pan and Zoom Tools - Help with Dawn Theme

Is there a way to use the product image pan and zoom feature on other images within the website, such as an informational page or blog entry?   I'm just looking for a way for a visitor to quickly inspect and interact with images in high resolution without the need to click away to a different page.   

The functionality is there for product pages, so I am look for a way to utilize this for other pages on the site.  I've already posted a similar question here without any feedback, but I'm just looking for a response before I go the 3rd party app route.
