Image SIze On Simple Theme

On my categories page all the products listed the images do not appear the same size, it will take lots of time to have to edit these images before uploading.   Its okay on the product page but on your categoris page which i have 4 in a row it does not look good at all unless all the images are uniformed and the same size.   Is there a way to have the images render the same size.

That is a really great question. Themes display product images based on the size of the product image that was uploaded. I understand that editing these individually will take a lot of painstaking time, we do, however, have an app that will do this work for you. 

Photo Resize by Pixc will automatically resize and replace ALL of your product photos to the perfect square ratio. This way everything is uniform on your website.

Alternatively, you could use Bulk Image Edit. This app will allow you to bulk square, resize, or crop images to fit any social media or sales channel listing as well as improve SEO by optimizing image sizes, alt-text and file names. Better site load speed and SEO -> higher rankings, more traffic and sales..

Hi! Thanks for the feedback. What are the recommended sizes for photos? my site www.barrackstoballer.com has a great image for the slideshow, but I think it's way too big.

I absolutely love your site - I especially love the Toni Morrison quote featured, she's my favorite author! This looks like the Simple theme to me, the recommended size for slideshow images is 1280 x 460 px. You can read more about this theme here.

I’m actually interested now in extending the banner to include the full screen, versus just having it in the top right corner.

Not the “full screen” but to span the width of the page, not smushed in the corner.

Thank you for getting back to me. Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to make the banner or slideshow full width on this theme - they will show like this: 

There are a number of free themes that have a full width or as we call them, a hero banner. Brooklyn, Debut, Narrative, Venture, and Boundless all have a full-width banner and slideshow. You can take a look at them here. We cannot implement this on your current theme as it would interfere with the perimeters of all of the other sections and your navigation.

I don’t mind changing the code, I’m familiar with exiting code. But, I’m not an expert. I know people are manipulating the code the fix personalize. I’d like to do the same.

What I would recommend in this case would be to post a new thread in the Design Forum. This way other merchants, developers, and experts will be able to see your question and help out! This code change is not covered by the design policy here at Shopify but I am confident you will be able to find help on a new thread!
