Implementation Filtering

Hello,  I am aware of a Shopify limitation surrounding product collections containing more than (5000?) products meaning that the filtering system stops working altogether for any collections over that value. I have checked out different apps, however, none of them suit to what our business needs (or they want a monthly fee based on the amount of products you have) we're still a small business so forking out over £100 a month isn't viable.

However, we are in a position to pay an expert to implement this overwrite onto our theme (if possible) - we wish to have collections show filtering regardless of how many products might be in that collection. We are running the Empire theme currently on Shopify 2.0: https://lockett-labs.com/
