Incorrect Italics

Hi everyone!

I am currently using Palo Alto theme and I am using Alegreya Bold on my headlines.
The problem starts when I try to make my Alegreya Bold in italic, which creates a fake italic, where the words are diagonal, instead of italic, please see below:

If I go to my theme, select "Typography" and then select Alegreya Bold Italic the font shows like below, which is exactly what I want BUT I don't want to add it into all my headlines, so it's pointless to use the "Typography" option on my theme. I want to be able to use Alegreya Bold Italic by using html and css coding for specific headlines.


Not sure if this is important but this font is also available at fonts.google.com
Can someone help me?
