Increasing image limit and activating zoom on carousel: Exhibit Theme

Hello! I have two questions related to image carousel limits with the theme exhibit:

1. I looking to upload many images to image carousels on my blog (book scans), however I cannot seem to add more than 50 images to the carousel. I tried to look in the code to see if there was a limit I could change, however nothing seems to appear.

2. In my product pages, there is the ability to click and zoom on the images that are uploaded. I would like this feature on the carousel as well so that viewers can look at details of the images. 

I really appreciate any help on this!
