Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
Hi @Imogen 🙂 I have one more question regarding my shop. I receive weird search results for some of the pages on my website. "Seite 3" for example in English means page 3...why does this appear in the google search results? Is this a matter of the sitemap.xml? How can I get rid of this? Ideally, I want to have my three different product collections displayed under the domain (Classic-Line, Fresh & Fruity-Line and Men's-Line). It just creates a better first impression and probably increases my clickthrough rate. Any suggestions?
Gutten Tag! 🙂
Congrats on launching your business! Your products look amazing, and your website is beautiful 🙂 It has a lot of helpful and insightful information, so congrats on that!
One quick tip: the favicon is missing, which could be a major Red Flag to some users.
You can fix this in Online Store / Theme / Customize / Theme Settings / Favicon (let me know if you'd like to see a step-by-step video of how to fix it).
Regarding your questions: these pages that show up in the Google results below your website URL are called "Sitelinks". These are automatically chosen by Google, and there is no way to 'force' Google to display certain pages. However, there are ways to influence the results by implementing some best practices. Plus, there is a way on the other hand to exclude pages that you do NOT want to see there, such as the "Seite 3" page.
I made a video to go over this and share the most important guidelines from Google with you:
