Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
I have a wheel chock that has multiple variants ("Chock Model") based on the Make/Model/Year of the customer's motorcycle.
I've used Infinite Options (a choice I'm questioning) to build out the Make/Model/Year dropdowns and used conditional logic to display a "Chock Model" field that only displays the correct model based on their selections.
For example, if they select Harley > Softail > 2010, a dropdown is revealed with Model 1 as the only option.
However... The Chock Model is the actual product variant. But because I'm using Infinite Options, it doesn't show up on the back end anywhere (i.e. when creating an order). Is there a way to tie that field to Shopify's Variant field so they show up as separate product variants on the back end?
Aka, I want the Chock Model to be a product option where you see Test 1, Test 2 in this screenshot...
I'm thinking tagging may be an alternative, but I want to make sure there isn't a better option for my options out there 🙂
Hi @wheeldock,
You can consider using the Easify Product Options app, which enables you to display custom options based on selected Shopify variants.
If you share more information about your product, I can offer specific guidance on how to set it up effectively.
@EasifyApps - I actually need to do the opposite. I need to display variants based on the options selected.
For example, if they select:
Option 1: Harley
Option 2: Softail
Option 3: 2010
THEN, show Variant 1: Model 1 Chock
You can configure 3 options within the app and then apply conditional logic to display the result - Model 1 Chock. It's important to connect the Model 1 Chock option in the app with your actual product (variant) using the Add-on product feature.
Easify Product Options seems capable of fulfilling your needs, although it may necessitate extensive setup due to the numerous Make/Model/Year options typically found in car stores. You could give our app a try and also explore some car part finder apps to determine what best fits your requirements.
