Is there a way to add videos into a blog post without embedding?

Hi there,

I'm using the Debut theme and wondering the easiest ways to upload a video into a blog post. Does it have to be embedded? Can I do multiple videos as a gallery?

Apologies for the late reply.

Debut is a vintage Shopify theme, and when it comes to adding videos to blog posts, the only way to add them natively is by embedding them using the embed feature.

However, Shopify has recently started rolling out Online Store 2.0, a series of themes that offer better functionality including sections for every page. This means that you can add a video section to your blog posts, instead of simply planting the video link in the code.

The first theme in this series is the Dawn theme. Here's how you can edit your blog using the Dawn theme. You don't have to use this new functionality, you can absolutely stick to vintage themes like Debut, but I'm sure you'll agree that there are some decided advantages to using this new model of theme customization once you've read that document.

When it comes to gallery displays for videos, that is not possible natively. You may need to have a look at third-party apps that can facilitate that, here are some video apps on our store for you to check out.
