Link products using color variants to other products?

I have a problem with understanding how do variant options work with linking products.

Example: In a theme Prestige demo, there is a color swatch that changes products to display the entire gallery.

By that we achieve that the entire product and its gallery are switched instead of just the variant color, which allows you to use only one image.

Some say apps that don't exist, the assistant recommends a code that does not work. How do I go about doing this, I'm sure this has been asked before but with no luck finding answers I must resort to submitting a question here, my apologizes in advance if I somehow missed it, because it seems like an easy thing to implement.
