Main product image not showing on front end, only variant image

Hi everyone,

Please see attached two pictures. First picture shows that on the back end we have an image showing two variants of the product as main image.

However, when we look at the front end (second picture) only the gray variant is showing as main product image. Is there anything we are doing wrong?
