(Motion Theme) How can I make the Complementary Products open in a modal

I'd expected an option inside of the block to turn on this function but it appears to not be available...I'd prefer a customer stay on the product page they're on when selecting an accessory. Through some inspect digging I got the modal for the product to show up but unfortunately its within the small section of complementary products only...not blown up on the whole page.

Some are one size...some have color/size variants so I figured a modal pop up would be the easiest overall method of getting this to happen. Just unsure how to convert the link for each complementary product from jumping to a new page over to being a modal.
