Hi everyone,

I need help in fixing an issue. When clicking onto my "add to cart" button i am re-directed to the checkout page immidiatly. but i would like the customers to come to the cart page first, so that i can upsell something to them there. how can i fix this issue. (I am not sure if i edited some code in the past to make this happen)

Even when i do the dynamic checkout button both buttons redirect to the checkout. So now i only have one button saying buy now.

If you could share your store link or a preview URL, I can take a look and assist with resolving your issues.

Hi, @Moritz1690. I'm happy to help you out with this! I just have a few questions to make sure I'm giving you accurate advice.

  • Which theme are you currently using?
  • When did you first start noticing this? Did you make any changes to your theme before you noticed this happening?

Typically you would have two buy buttons, one "add to cart" button that directs customers to the cart, and a dynamic checkout "buy it now" button that brings customers right to the checkout. If your "add to cart" button isn't working as expected it's likely caused by something in your theme. To test this out I recommend previewing your online store with a new theme that you haven't edited yet, to see if this issue is happening with other themes, or just the one you're using. You can preview a theme by going to Online store > Themes and clicking ... > Preview next to the theme you want to preview. You can also find the steps to preview themes explained here. My advice for more help with this going forward will depend on your theme, and whether you're only seeing this issue with your current theme or with multiple themes.

Looking forward to hearing back! Happy to help if you have any other questions in the meantime.
