Navigation Menu Item- make menu item an achor link

Hi everyone. I am using the Studio theme, I just wasted almost 2 hours with support to no avail. What I want to do should be very simple, but apparently according to support there is no way to do this. 

On my home page, I have a section at the bottom of the page "About the Artist" , I have a page and navigation item called "About" since that seems to be the only way to add an item to the navigation menu. I want the About menu item to send the user to the "About the Artist" section on the home page. This should be as easy as making an anchor link, which I have tried to do in several different ways but it is not working. In the admin/navigation when i try to set the anchor link, it doesn't accept it, the best I can do from there is simple link the menu item to the home page. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you can't find section_id. Could you share your store url? I will help to check or guide you add code do it.

Yes I did that where I added About to my navigation menu and in the link section on the side bar pop up I put #about, it did not work. I have since remove the item from the menu and gave up. I just moved the about section to the top of the page below my slideshow.

sorry I dont know what happened but i could not get into my admin fir quite sometime, i went to the status page and apparently shopify was down for a while. Then Im having issues with facebook and getting everything connected there. Between being in chat or call with Shopify support and Meta support I now have a massive headache.
