Out of the Sandbox Superstore theme: How do I get rid of the empty space above the app wrapper?

I contacted Out of the Sandbox and they suggested either hiring a Shopify developer or asking here. When I use an app wrapper section on my website an empty space of about 2cms on desktop and about 1 cm on mobile appears above it. I don't want the empty space, especially as it is pushing my positive review count "below the fold." It is the only section with a gap, every other section seamlessly knits together. 

Can anyone tell me:

-Is it possible to remove it

-If so, how?

-and just out of interest, what was the original logic behind the gap?
