I’m 17 turning 18 in 2 months, if I were to get my website and someone purchased an item would the payments save for me ?

It would be necessary to have an adult in place as the account owner and their identity would need to be verified in order to use Shopify Payments.

You can consider having a parent or guardian in place as the account owner, and their identification can be used to set up payments while you're still a minor.

As an alternative, you could wait until you are of age in your jurisdiction before setting up your Shopify Payments account at which point you can use your own identity for your Shopify account and payouts.

You can check out our Terms of Service here, which states: 

1.  Account Terms
   2. You must be the older of: (i) 18 years, or (ii) at least the age of majority in the jurisdiction where you reside and from which you use the Services to open an Account.
