Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
Hello everyone. No matter what I do, I can't get a Sticky Add-to-Cart button to show up on my store. I tried using Debutify's add-on, it won't show up. I tried using Vital's sticky add-to-cart feature, it won't show up. Now, I just paid for an app called GetSiteControl, and they have a widget for Sticky Add-to-Cart, and again, the sticky button won't show up.
So, the only thing that I can think of, is that it has nothing to do with these apps. There is a problem within my store, and I don't know what it is. Has anyone else had this problem?
Please, any help and information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time.
~Adam
I have resolved the issue, but I wanted to point out, that it is a technical issue with Shopify itself.
Sticky Carts WILL show up on the product pages, but they will not show up on the Home Page, even if the Home Page has the "Featured Product" tag enabled, showing the only product that you want to show. I had to do tons of trial and error to figure all of this all out.
All attempts to resolve the problem, such as URL Redirection (Redirecting from the Home Page to the Product itself will not work), third-party apps, etc., just did not work.
Shopify has some issues that need to be resolved. There is even a bug in the settings area, which causes an endless loop.
Hello!
I'm glad to read that you managed to solve the problem yourself, but if you don't mind, I'd like to add a couple of other viable solutions that Getsitecontrol offers.
You could use the page targeting (Display widget on) to display your sticky button on your homepage, or on any other page of your choice, regardless of the products displayed on it. Then, you could set up an add to cart action for the background click, and choose the product that you'd like to add to the cart (again, regardless of what's on the current page).
There is also a variant availability targeting setting that will only display the popup if the variant is available in your store (Targeting>Display widget if>Shopify>Variant availability).
For more detailed information and step-by-step instructions, you can check out this use case that we have recently published on our website.
Also, we offer 24h support on weekdays. You can reach out to us using the chat on your Getsitecontrol dashboard or on our website.
I hope this can be helpful!
Thank you GiorgiaGSC. However, the GetSiteControl Widget was not working. It would not work properly. The only thing I can think of, is that it was the same issue as the Home Page issue. The Home Page, even if it has your Featured Product, is not a "Product" page, so it will not be able to access the currently-selected product variant.
I spent a few hours trying to figure all of this out. It was such a headache.
depending on the theme this works for dawn
