Populating new theme without going live

Hi!

I have a current shopify store but am wanting to buy a new theme. I know you can trial it and customise the aesthetics and functionality prior to going live but is there the ability to import all products into it and see how the info sits? Reason is I currently have to use 3rd party apps for product options and I need to see how that sits with the new theme rather than it going live and there being issues as there are hundreds of products and variables.

Hi!

Thank you - ok i'm confused with this part:

I’ve duplicated theme and installed but not published new theme (not purchased as yet)
I have expired products from existing site as CSV file.
How do I import those into the test theme though? All I can see is how to import into current theme.
For the temporary theme all I can see is how to modify it but add products to it.
