Prestige Theme, how to make product image size smaller without blurring

Every time I reduce the product image size, whether on photoshop or directly in the editor, it doesn't actually get smaller and just get blurred. Hope someone can help. And what is a good image size to have on the product page. I've gone as low as 500px height with no luck.
