This need to do custom code in your product.liquid to ensure it show the thumbnail of the product media.

To show product images as thumbnails on desktop layout in the new free Fabric Theme on Shopify, you can do it without coding by using the theme's built-in settings

How to Show Thumbnails in Fabric Theme (Desktop)

Step 1: Open Theme Customizer

• Go to Shopify Admin → Online Store → Themes

• Click “Customize” next to the Fabric theme

Step 2: Go to Product Page

• Use the top navigation dropdown to select Products > any product

Step 3: Edit the Product Page Layout

• In the left panel, select the Product information section

• Look for “Media layout” or “Media position” or something like:

  • Thumbnail position

  • Media style

  • Gallery layout

Step 4: Choose a Thumbnail Layout

• Change it from Stacked, Grid, or Carousel to a layout that includes thumbnails on the side or below the main image
  Typical options:

  • Thumbnails below main image

  • Thumbnails on left/right side

Step 5: Preview on Desktop

• In the top bar of the customizer, change the device preview to desktop

• Make sure thumbnails appear correctly

• You may need to upload multiple product images to see them

Step 6: Save Changes

🧪 If You Don't See Thumbnail Options

If your theme version doesn’t expose these options:

• Go to Product page section > Product media

• Look for a “Enable thumbnails” toggle

• If it’s missing, your Fabric version might need updating (it’s still rolling out as of 2024–25)
