Product Variant Change Photo to Match (Express Theme)

Hello - 

I am trying to customize the Express theme so that when a user selects a variant from the drop down; the photo will change to match that variant. I have tried snippets of code from GIThub that no longer work. 

In the video: 

You can see when I select a different variant, the product image does not change, and there are just a bunch of other images below it. I would like there to be one photo and then when a user selects the variant, that one photo changes.

I would really appreciate help.. Thanks.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I am having the same problem and wondering if there is some code for the Express Theme to change this behaviour.
