Remove white space/making collection images on homepage bigger

Under the homepage banner, website has four collection blocks in a 2 by 2 grid (2 square above another two squares). The squares don’t meet in the middle and are separated by medium size white lines. How do I make the blocks bigger so that they fill the space and the white lines disappear.
