removing georgias code

Hi everyone, I have been going crazy for the last 2 days, can't seem to remove georgias from my website, even though I have uninstalled the app, can't seem to find which code section is te georgias code inserted to delete it manually. please help!!!

Ah, that can be quite a frustrating situation! Some apps can leave behind a bit of code after they have been uninstalled. This isn't common, but it can happen. Thankfully, you can reach out to the app developers directly and they can guide you on how to completely remove the app from your store. If you remember the name of the app, search for it on our App Store and you can find the developers email under the 'Support' section.

I wasn't able to find anything under 'Gerogias' but I was able to find the contact email for 'Gorgias - Customer Service'. Otherwise, you can find any app developer's support email listed in the section below:

Thanks so much for answering! I did contact Georgias before posting, they answered with this:

"I can't really send specific instructions but I can tell you a bit about what it will look like. If you go into the code for your shopify theme the beginning of the code will be "<!-- Gorgias Chat Widget Start -->" and the end of the code will be "<!-- Gorgias Chat Widget End -->". You will need to delete those and all of the code in between from the theme." 

And I can't find the place where this is located. The reason why I want to remove is because the chatbox still shows up on my website.

No! You need to keep those as they are important.

Okay so confirming I delete the code that starts with what the previous merchant said, hit save then delete all integrations and delete the widget? Thank you for helping me, the team at Gorgias are not responding so it doesnt look like they like it when people delete it lol

I am struggling with the same issue. Can some one post the steps to go and delete the code. I went into the Theme Code and could see other apps there but cannot find Gorgias. Is it under a different name ?

Also I have been playing around and installing several apps and trying things out. The speed of my store has been reduced significantly and I assume it is because the unitsalled apps are leaving snippets behind. How does one ensure that apps are being deleted completely.

I was able to find it today. In the active theme in your store, click on Actions, then Edit Code. 

Select Theme.Liquid. If you Ctrl+F you can type in "Gorgias" to find where the code is. Delete the entire line that starts with <!--Gorgias Chat Widget Start--> and ends with <!--Gorgias Chat Widget End-->

Do not delete </body> after.

To be safe, I copied the entire page code into a word doc first in case I accidentally deleted the wrong thing, but this worked.
