Removing Shipping / Delivery states artisan theme

hi there, we have an online florist shop that only delivers around Melbourne, currently on our site we have a drop down list to caculate shipping/delivery  fees, i was wondering if there was a way to remove all the other Australian states so it just says Victoria/Melbourne????

Are you referring to the checkout dropdown menus I've highlighted in the screenshot below from my test store?

If so, the states and the countries that appear in those dropdown menus are the shipping zones set up in your shipping and delivery settings. You can adjust the shipping zone by following the steps on this page so it only contains the state of Victoria in Australia and so only that option will appear at checkout, however, since you have a florist shop that only delivers locally around Melbourne, I would recommend disabling shipping and enabling local delivery instead.

Local delivery would be more suitable to your setup as it allows you to set your delivery zone within a set distance from your location, or for certain postal codes. It also has notifications specific to local delivery so you can easily notify your customers when the order is out for delivery, if it has been delivered or if the delivery has been missed. If you would like to enable local delivery, you can go through this page to see the eligibility and requirements. When your store is set up to be eligible, you can then follow the steps below to enable local delivery.

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Shipping and delivery.
  2. Scroll down to the Local delivery section.
  3. Click Manage beside the location you would like to offer local delivery from.
  4. Check This location offers local delivery.
  5. Configure the delivery area. You can select between using postal codes or a delivery radius.
    • If you use postal codes, enter a list of postal codes (up to a maximum of 3,000 characters) that you want to deliver to, separated by a comma and a space. To include a group of postal codes, add either an asterisk or a space after the initial characters to indicate a range of postal codes.
    • If you use a delivery radius, set the radius by miles or kilometers. You can check Include neighboring states or regions or not.
  6. You can enter a minimum order price if you wish to only offer local delivery over a certain order amount.
  7. If you wish to charge for local delivery, enter the Delivery price.
  8. In the Delivery information section, you can enter a message to let customers know about the terms of your local delivery.
  9. If you wish to set up delivery zones, you may learn more about them on this page.
  10. Click Save.

After enabling local delivery, you can go over this page to learn about fulfilling local delivery orders and customizing email notifications.

Once local delivery is good to go, you can disable shipping by deleting your shipping zones with the steps below. Please note this is only an applicable step when all your products are set to be locally delivered. Otherwise, you can leave the shipping rates and have both local delivery and shipping options at the checkout.

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Shipping and delivery.
  2. Click Manage rates beside the shipping profile you're currently using.
  3. Scroll down to the Shipping from section.
  4. Click Manage beside your shipping location.
  5. Select Remove rates for your location.
  6. Click Done.
  7. Click Save.
