Render Accelerated checkout buttons via AJAX

Is there a way to trigger the Accelerated checkout buttons render via javascript? Or some other workaround to get the buttons rendered on components rendered via ajax?

The docs say its not possible but there must be a workaround. And it seems like it should be easy for Shopify to add an official api to do this. Many themes use Ajax to render a cart or mini cart, which is prime real-estate for the accelerated checkout. Shopify is pushing ShopPay pretty hard, make it easy for us to use!
