Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
Hello,
We are looking for a search app that can pick up on metafield data of our products.
Our products all have a metafield of "product id" and are assigned a unique product id number (ie. 27552). This product id number is displayed on the product page for customers and often they write these down and come back to them later.
On our old non-Shopify store, customers could do a search through the searchbar for this product id number and the product would come up. In Shopify by default, that does not happen, we search for the product id and nothing comes up.
Does anyone know of any way to enhance/edit the sensitivity of Shopify's build in store search function?
Thanks
It appears that if you add the 'product ID' as a tag or include it in the product description, it becomes searchable through Shopify's default search.
Note: Search results appear to also work on partial tag matches. So if a product is tagged "id-27552", searching "27552" still returns the product.
