Select variants by clicking their images Shopify 2.0 Taste Theme

Hi folks, 

I'm looking to for a solution to this problem. 

When I click on the variant, the image changes to that variant which is good. 
When I click on the variant image, the product does not change to that variant. 

There seems to be a solution for old themes (see link below) but I'm looking for how I can implement this into the new Shopify 2.0 theme, specifically Taste. 

Can anyone help me with this?

I'm not looking to install any external apps for this.
