Hi,

we really hope to get help here. After updating to the newest Impulse version we - only on product pages - have a seo issue as pagespeed insights is in fact showing no score but a "?".

Analytics tells us there is no problem, one developer told us its an issue with canonical links another mentioned the issue is with href linking.

Can someone please help?

1) are you getting complaints from google search console?

if not, don't worry about this as chasing speed scores is a waste of time and should only be used to help make the page(or website) as fast as possible with the current theme.

2) if you are worried about this, create a new product page template with nothing on it. Then try the page speed again and see if you get the same issue.

3) you should reach out the the theme developers for this as they created the theme and can FIX it or guide you on what to do since it is a PAID theme.

Usually, you can INSPECT the page to find the issues but that particular page is pretty HEAVY. (video, images, etc.)

4) I was able to get page speed scores

And your SEO on that page is the only culprit.

5) Even the great GOOLE has a bad day - this site gets millions of requests a day so sometimes it is a matter of just waiting -  https://pagespeed.web.dev/

6) gtmetrix.com, webpagetest and pingdom  are also good speed testing sites. And to compress images use tinyjpg.com or other image compression tools BEFORE you upload images to Shopify (even though they create different sizes and versions when you upload an image it is best to compress before uploading for added speed)

Hope that helps.

You are totally right about chasing pagespeed not useful.

we could figure out that the image with hotspot section is causing this issue. We customized some things on it like instead of text to the site the hotspot triggers now a textbox above the hotspot. Also they can link to another product. Maybe the link function is causing the error. In fact on any site not using the hotspot image function we got valid scores for SEO. Of course it would be good to handle the code in the hotspot section somehow.
