Setting up a Product to be Sold by The foot in US Market

Fellow Shopifiers,thank you for the support in advance of this novel! Pretty new to shopify. I am trying to sell an already setup product by the foot based on a free text box entered by the end user. I have gone down a rabbit hole trying to figure out how to do this and have yet to find a solution that totally meets my requirements. I have added the Easify app and have been able to add a required free text box for the user to enter how many feet of my product they want. There are two issues I find when using the custom option set from Easify with adding to the cart. 

1. As soon as a user enters the amount of feet they want in the add to cart page it will take that value multiple by the setup price and upon hitting add to cart, the cart will show amount entered plus the quantity of the item ex. User enters 60 feet and the cart total reflects 61 items. 

2. Pricing: After adding to the cart my store and current configuration shows the price with the custom feet entered plus the item price ex. Item price is $3.00 for quantity of 1 user enters 60 feet, cart price shows $183

Requirements: Need a required free text box pre cart add that will multiply the feet entered in the box by the item price of $3.00 then need the total in cart to reflect the correct amount for estimated total and not add the item price an additional time. Additionally, need the cart to reflect 1 after the user enters there number of feet and hits add to the cart.

Ask: Does anyone have a straight forward solution preferably free  for the above requirements?

You're trying to sell a product by the foot with a custom input box, but your current setup is adding an extra item to the cart and miscalculating the price. The easiest way to fix this without an app is by using line item properties in Shopify.

Right now, Easify is treating the custom text input as an add-on instead of adjusting the base price. Instead, you can modify your product form to include a line item property for the custom feet input.
