Shipping to another address and personalized gift messages

I would like to be able to have customers indicate that a purchase is for a gift and then I get the gift recipient's address and can ship the product to them with a personalized message from the purchasers.  (like Harry & David or other gift catalogs).  Is there a way to set this up on Shopify?

There are a few apps that can do this e.g https://apps.shopify.com/customized-attribute. But usually we build a small form on the cart page to allow the customer to enter a gift message, this then displays as in the additional details section of the order. This happens via cart attributes  https://shopify.dev/api/ajax/reference/cart 
As we the shipping address this can be entered in the shipping info in the checkout as normal.

Basically, when you install our app, we show a button on checkout that asks the user if they want to include a greeting card.  When they press they get to select a greeting card and add their own message (or even video message).  After they checkout, we send you a PDF that you print and include in the box with the gift!  The recipient also can scan the card and get the full digital message.
