Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
Hi,
I am wondering how to adjust the "shop the look" feature (currently in the "Gain" theme) so that the product picture would be screen wide, and the buttons would pop up text (more product description). I have seen online that Gain theme should have this capability but the default currently is just scrolling between the linked products (to the right or left).
Here is a link just as an example as seen in liforme for the desired outcome. Mid page there is a picture of a mat with clickable buttons for more description.
Is this achievable with Gain theme (or other themes) without using 3rd party apps or coding?
Thanks!
Ducki
Hello @aDucki ,
Hope you are doing well.
Could you please share your store URL? so can check and guide you accordingly
Hi @aDucki,
You can refer to the following instructions.
It will help you setup this section and everything will work fine
Thanks!
There actually are sections that are more suitable for what I need as you suggested, which are not "shop the look". Unfortunately they still display the product price. Guess I'll have to find some workaround, or this might be the furthest one can go without the addition of custom code or 3rd party apps.
Hi @aDucki,
What section do you want in the theme demo? I will help you check it again?
Hi Aducki,
For the product picture to be screen wide, custom CSS is to be added, which thankfully does not require an app at all.
As for the buttons that would pop up text, which again does not need 3rd party apps, your current theme's code will have to be changed in order to support such button and functionality.
So, to answer your question, no it is not achievable without using 3rd party app or coding. But it is achievable via coding, no need to download any app at all.
Hope this helps and if you have any questions, feel free to ask here or through my contact below! 🙂👍
Hello, Dear @aDucki the Gain support is here: https://utdweb.team/contact-us/
We are happy to help you with setup and tuning,
@namphan is right we have this option as a basic feature you can tune it as we described in the manual and video tutorial here: https://www.youtube.com/@UTD-eCommerce
Also, we provided more options like "Custom code edits," but the other things are custom and need a backend, and they can be done only with Shopify APP integration. Yes, we can certainly make logic through custom code inside the store, but alas, there are some limitations on storing and processing code that require a backend and a server, which is not part of the Theme.
