Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
Hi,
I am looking for a solution where I can have a form for customers to enter their information on out-of-stock products that will automatically enter them into our customer database for all marketing material, including new in-stock product emails that we do manually.
I've seen the normal solution (https://community.shopify.com/c/shopify-design/forms-add-a-back-in-stock-notification-form/m-p/61659...) posted but this doesn't really solve our problem.
The #1 thing we need is to have the emails taken directly, and have a customer profile generated for this person so they can be marketed to in the future.
In the form, they will agree to this marketing as well.
Thank you.
Hi @Schleich
What do you mean by your database, do you have cors enabled API for saving this information?
If answer is yes, then you just need to create a form which will submit details to your database using API.
Or you can also tag users to be filter later.
Hey! Thank you for the reply.
By database I meant the customer/email database stored in the back end of Shopify.
I am not familiar with the CORS API you are talking about, or how to connect it. I also tried Googling and didn't find much about it.
The solution you've offered sounds like it would work but I'm not sure what the API required is.
CORS comes in picture only when you have your own API.
Since you want to add in Shopify CORS not required here.
So is there an alternative solution?
You need a custom app which will provide you CORS enabled API.
Which will add tag with product SKU name.
You will be able to filter customer using tag and able to send email.
