Show variant image on collection page - Dawn Theme

Hi everyone,

I am hoping someone can help me.  I am looking to display specific product variants on corresponding collection pages.

For example, I would like the 'Mug' product variant's image to show on the 'Mugs' collection page, and so on.  Can someone help me with which code I need to update?

I tried Shopify help, but they directed me towards a file that doesn't exist in my store's version of Dawn (10.0.0).
