size/qantity picker

We are setting up a customised promotional clothing/workwear shop. We need products to be able to be purchased using a grid/matrix size/quantity selector so i.e. S x 4, M x 8, L x 22 can be all purchased at once.

Anybody else found a solution. Seems like a pretty basic feature that is hard to make work.
