Spotlight Theme Adding Page and Deleting Page Issue

I am trying to add a page on the Spotlight theme but it will only default to default page or contact.  It will not create another page with different content.  The pages have different names but they all lead to the same content.  How do I create a new page altogether?  Also, how do I delete the pages that are already created?  I have no use for them.  When I click on "delete", nothing happens.  Same thing happens on the "menu" section on the Navigation option.  I tried to delete a menu that I created but nothing happens when I click on delete.  I am lost.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.
