Re: Studio Theme Product Grid Image Resolution

Studio Theme Product Grid Image Resolution

Hey, we're setting up to launch our shop, and have noticed that the image resolution on the product grid is very low. We're using the Studio theme, and it appears that - I guess to facilitate quick loading - product images are being displayed at 360x270. They look terrible!

Clicking through to the product shows the images at full resolution.

I guess some tinkering in the code would adjust this, but I do not have the experience to know where to look/what to change.

Can anyone help?

Cheers

To address low-resolution product images in Shopify's Studio theme:

1. Adjust Theme Settings:
- Navigate to Online Store > Themes > Customize > Collections > Default collections > Product grid > Product card.
- Set the Image ratio to Portrait or Square to enhance image clarity. citeturn0search3

2. Use High-Quality Images:
- Upload images with a resolution of 2000x3000 pixels and a 2:3 aspect ratio for optimal display in the Studio theme. citeturn0search5

3. Ensure Consistent Aspect Ratios:
- Maintain uniform aspect ratios across all product images to prevent cropping or stretching.

These steps should improve image quality in your product grid.

Unfortunately, your suggestions don't address the issue.

1. Images are set to portrait; 2. We're using hi-res images; 3. Image aspect ratio is consistent.

The problem is that on the product grid image resolution is dropped so low. A little downscaling would be alright, but they're just blurry:

On the product page images appear as they should:

(I hope this is clear in my screenshots!)

Are you Hellebore as in the creators/publishers of the magazine? I would assume yes given the screenshots and the name, but seeing that this is the internet you never know!

Anyway, do you have a link you can share where I can take a look? It's possible that some quality adjustments can be made with minor liquid edits in the theme but seeing the code would help.

Hey,

Thank you for checking - we are Hellebore, we're in the process of consolidating separate webshops into one shopify store. Shopify actually shut our account down after we opened it until we could prove our identity 😄

You'll find our store here: helleborebooks.com

However, you'll need a password. Can I DM it to you?

Yes, DM it to me and I'll take a look 🙂
