Sub category selection bar

Hi There,

I've had this sub category bar create now the designer has gone MIA, I would like tog et the sub category's to stay static even when you click onto each selection.  At the moment if you click on one you kind of have to go back to see what the next option is.  I'd prefer it to stay static across the collection pages and products pages.  How can this be done?
