using both AND (all conditions) and OR (any condition) in the building of collections

Hi, I'll keep this simple. This is not a newby question instead it appears to be a glaring omission in shopify but there must be a workaround.

How would I build this collection in shopify (preferably the optimal way). Please note the use of brackets.

tag = Sale AND ( product type = coats OR product type = puffers OR product type = jackets )

Note this is definitely not the same as the following which seems to be all that is available in collections :

tag = Sale OR product type = coats OR product type = puffers OR product type = jackets

In Shopify, you can build collections based on conditions such as product tags and product types. Unfortunately, the platform does not support logical AND and OR operators within a single condition.

However, there is a workaround to achieve the desired collection:

Create three separate collections, each with a different product type (coats, puffers, jackets).
In each of these collections, add a condition that filters only the products with the "Sale" tag.
Finally, create a fourth collection that includes all three of the above collections. This will effectively combine the products that match the conditions you specified.
You can also use a custom product tag for all of your sale items and add a condition to each of the collections to only include products with that tag.
