Using Line Item Property as Input to a Metafield Definition.

Hi! I wanted to know if there's a way to use Line Item Property to take input as Date & Time and store that in a Metafield Definition. This should also should the meta definition at the checkout order summary. Basically I want to include date and time selection in product page and this seems like it could be possible.
