Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
Today may be one of those days when I am refusing to accept reality. I'm sure someone here will be able to get me back on track.
I'm just now updating Turbo theme to 2.0 Shopify. Usually, it goes without a hitch, but this time is different. My business is skin care for dogs. Several of our products are the exact same item, with different dog breed labels. There are 125+ different dog breeds offered and three products that have all breeds. In the past, I wrote different content for each page and had dog breed-specific info, so I did not have duplicate content issues. Each dog breed with each item is on a separate page. For example; Bulldog Nose Butter is one product page, Pug Nose Butter is one product page. So, I have 125+ Nose Butter pages with different breeds.
I had hoped to write one template for each category, using the 3 columns with image for the info that remains the same. Then I would have a section with text where I could go into more detail on the breed.
Welp, I cannot figure out a workaround. I don't want to publish and unpublish the new theme 10X an hour to see if I've got it. I'm really not wanting to have to create 1000 or so separate templates for each product.
Ideas? Workarounds?
Please don't tell me to have them all on one page with an endless dropdown menu. I enjoy sharing the breed-specific info. THANK YOU for any help on this.
