Variant Deep Linking in Impulse Theme V 4.0.0

We use a particular app that needs variant deep link compatibility to work. When you select a variant it should change the product url with the variant id like it is in debut theme  (?variant=xxxxxxxxxx). 

Can anyone help us out how can we enable this for Impulse theme?

By default, Shopify will have a variant ID on the URL. For example, here is the Ride Theme

- For Impulse theme:

- We tested and still has a variant ID
