Vertical Carousel on left of product image - Dawn theme

How could we have the carousel on dawn theme on the left of the main product image, vertically?

When you say "carousel on dawn theme on the left of the main product image" do you mean to show the secondary product images so shoppers can flip through them?

If that is the case, you would need to make code modifications because Dawn does not support that setup out of the box. It would require Javascript slider and some modification. 

Are you experience in liquid, CSS, and Javascript? If not, you would want to hire a developer. If you are, I can provide a better understanding of the change.

I mean the theme has a slider under the main product image currently. I want it to function the same as it currently does but appear vertical on the left hand side of the current main image

Even with moving the current slider, you are looking at likely an hour or two to get it right. You'll definitely want to make sure it is done right, speaking from experience, Shopify is going to continually launch updates to the Dawn theme. You'll want to have the slider structured in away it can easily be moved from version to version of the theme.
