What happens when upload image with image_picker?

When add image to a section, are multiple images automatically created by image-picker at different widths for use as responsive images?

This appears to be the case - below is output on my site from uploading a single image 'catupleftwide.png' to 'image-with-text' section in the Dawn theme:

1. If this is the case, what are the default widths it automatically creates (above I can see 165, 360)
2. Is there any way to modify these widths?
