Why is "Price" the only filter that is allowed as a Range type filter??
Why doesn't the Shopify APP "Search & Discovery" NOT have this feature?
It is clearly capable of creating a Range Filter. How hard could it be to allow us users to select what data source to use for a Range Filter.
By excluding this feature Shopify is Forcing customers to spend MORE money on APP's that are stuffed with feature we do not want or need JUST to get a simple Range Filter for ANYTHING except price.
Installing a BIG search & filter APP for this one single feature adds expense as well as slowing the site down! Adding APP's slows the site down, we all know this.
This lack of a simple addition of a Range Filter has been lacking from Shopify going back at least 7 years!
Isn't there a simple solution for this that Does Not involve yet ANOTHER APP?
You can sure just use a custom code to implement this additional filter. No need to pay extra then.
Custom code where? How?
I know enough Liquid to do simple things. However, I have no idea what the code would be or where it would need to go. As I am sure 99% of the people using Shopify would not know either.
And "googling" the answer brings up page after page of APP's or people suggesting APP's. This forum itself is devoid of any advice for creating a Ranger Filter.
More over, "we" should NOT have to figure out what should be baked into the Base functions of a eCommerce platform.
If you have any information as to where there is a tutorial on how to create a custom ranger filter using metafield data I would love to hear about it.
how to do with that i cant figure out
