Why is my search bar invisible and how can I change text color?

And how do I only change the text color in the search field?  At this time it can’t be seen when typing in our search bar.  Total Newbie here

Also, how do you get your store to not have to scroll forever to get to the checkout?  We will lose customers if they continually have to scroll down.  Thank you!
