Why isn't my add to cart function showing notifications on my store?

I made a few changes to my Shopify store earlier today, none dealing with coding, and now my cart isn't working properly. When I try to add a product to my cart the notification does not pop up anymore. The number that also shows up near the bag does not appear when an item is added to the cart. The number only changes when I leave the product page, and then I can click the bag to view what is in my cart. Can anyone give any solutions for this issue? I am using the dawn theme, and this happened after I added a few meta fields, and did a few test payments.
