Why isn't my product video displaying on my Debut theme webpage?

I uploaded a video through the products tab on the admin section of Shopify. But it's not showing up on the products page of the actual website.

Not sure why so any help would be great, thanks.

Thank you for your message, I would be happy to help you out. 

First things first, I really enjoyed checking out your shop, these are some fantastic works you are offering here. I especially like this Hogwarts one as a massive Potter fan myself. In regards to your question, have you tried to view your store on a fresh Shopify theme to see if the video shows up on a different theme entirely? This is a good way to check if there is a specific issue with your primary theme. 

You can do this by heading to your admin and Online Store>Themes then under "Theme library" adding a fresh Shopify theme. Once you have added a fresh theme click "Actions" and "Preview" on the unpublished theme to see if the product video shows up. 


If the video shows up on the product page of the unpublished theme, you have now determined that there is an issue with your primary theme.

When you uploaded your video from your computer, did you notice this notification whilst loading the video?

If you did, this most likely means that your theme version does not support product media and you will either need to upload a new theme or update your current theme. To check the current version of your theme you can head to Online Store>Themes>Customize and click the three dots at the top of your screen once you are in your customization window to see your theme version:



Once you know your theme version, you can head to our Theme store here and search your theme name, if you need to update it you will be able to re-download the theme from our store directly.

Hi I just purchased a brand new shopify theme through the theme store and videos do not show up on mobile devices.  Only works on desktop which is not commonly used by most of our customers.  Please advise out to fix this.

     my suggestion is not to upload videos into Shopify but always link them on youtube: it always works and for sure does not impact your website speed, which is  critical issue of your SEO strategy.
