Why won't my Mailchimp pop-up email form close on my Dawn theme site?

Hello, my pop up email form from Mailchimp won’t allow you to X cross it off which is very annoying for the customer to keep shopping without subscribing. I have contacted Mailchimp but they are saying it’s something to do with my code. I have the Dawn theme any suggestions? Please help I’ve tried everything! 🙏

1. Go to Online Store->Theme->Edit code
2. Asset->/base.css ->paste below code at the bottom of the file.
